crazy boy

Evan was in his room for his "nap" this afternoon but really didn't sleep. He was singing and seemed really happy. He was quiet for a time and I thought he was sleeping but now I'm not so sure. When I opened the door he was laying on the floor in his boots (which he is a little obsessed with) and he had put on this new tshirt that Aunt Camie gave him. What a cute little guy. He said, "I did it all myself, Mommy!" He was so proud. I'm not sure the neck of the shirt will ever be the same but we'll wash it and see.

He is also doing this funny little smile every time we take a picture. I think it is so funny because it looks just like the pictures of me when I was this age.

Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra......Ra Ra Ra Ra

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This will be my last post for a little while. We are taking off on Friday for the Loooong drive to Kansas to visit my side of the family. I am so excited!

I can't wait to be in Kansas for Christmas. It has been a long time since I have been back and even longer since Ryan has been there. This will also be Griffin's first time in Kansas.

I just want to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas. I hope that you have a happy and safe holiday. I will write more when we return!

Try it again

Ok, so the second video below wasn't working but I think I fixed it so try it again! It is worth it, I promise.

Evan rocks the house

Here is some video footage of Evan singing. In one he is singing the ABC's and gets a bit confused when trying to sing it backwards. Normally he can do this without a problem but he got distracted.

The next video is him singing I am a Child of God and it is so so cute!

Poor baby.....

Well, we have returned from spending the night in the hospital. Griffin was sick earlier this week with the flu. He had vomitting and diarrhea and was just a sick little boy. I took him in on Tuesday to the pediatrician and they were pretty worried about him. They decided to do daily weight checks and let me know that if he lost more than 6oz a day he would have to go to the hospital. When I took him in on Wed he had lost over a pound! They were pretty worried and so we took him into the hospital.

We were there for about 24 hours and he was such a little trooper. They gave him and IV when we first got there to hydrate him. They were able to get the IV started fairly easily but it was tough for them to find a vein to get the blood for the tests they wanted to run. After 4 tries they ended up doing a heel stick and squeezing it out. Poor kid. He was so tough about it the whole time and really barely cried.

Once he got hydrated he was did much better and was able to take formula by morning without throwing it up. He is doing well now and seems to be just fine. We are home now and he is sleeping. He slept well last night but I did not. I am going to go take a nap right now!

Cutest Santa!

Isn't this the cutest Santa you have ever seen?!

I just can not believe how cute this kid is and how adorable this picture turned out. I just threw this on him one day after a nap and decided to take some pictures. I just seriously can't believe how cute this turned out!

Ok, enough bragging about my beautiful baby!

I love Hershey!

Today Lindsay and Samantha (Ryan's sister and her daughter) were in town. They came up last night just for the night and then stayed until about an hour ago. We decided to check out the scene down in Hershey. We went to chocolate world. What a fun place! There is a free tour of how chocolate is made. It is actually a ride through a fake factory with singing cows and everything. The kids were is awe. They give you a free candy bar at the end. You also get to do this silly thing where you package hershey kisses and get a little hat. It is fun. We got some lunch and just had a great time. Thankfully it was all indoors because today it is bitter cold here.

Brrrrrr. Winter has truly arrived and I'm not sure I like it! It is so tough to get the kids so bundled up and into the car. I feel like I forget something every time I leave the house.

I have to work tonight. Did I mention I got a part time job at Micheals? I really like it. I only work 2-3 days a week and it is just nice to get out of the house and make some money while I'm at it. I probably spend more there than I have made so far. But, it is Christmas and I have bought stuff for gifts so hopefully that makes up for it!

I'm working on getting Christmas cards out. We'll see if I am successful this year. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Have a good weekend!

Family Home Nightmare

So last night I was thinking that it would be a fun FHE to go get some ice cream. All day long Evan talked about it and I also was looking forward to my Baskin-Robbins peppermint on a sugar cone. We got there around 7, after dinner and were the only customers in the store. Now as you may know all of the BR's have combined with Dunkin Donuts and this one had a drive thru. He was helping me and first of all there was a huge language barrier and he scooped the wrong ice cream twice before getting Evan his kids scoop of chocolate chip in a cup. At least he got that one first because then someone came to the drive thru and he left me hanging. He helped the next 4 people, Yes I said 4! I finally said, "Sir, you will help me NOW!" He said no that he had to help the drive thru or they would get mad and complain. (I'm sure you see the irony here) I told him, "I am complaining to you, right now and I will call and complain later if you do not help me right now." He still wouldn't help us. I couldn't even pay. We just got up and left, taking Evan's ice cream with us. We got the kids in the car and were about to leave when he ran out asking for $1. I threw it at him and drove off. I called their corporate offices when I got home and they are dealing with it for me. If he thought the drive thru people would complain he has no idea who he was dealing with. I just wanted a simple scoop of ice cream and a nice little family night.

Total bummer.

That said. All I can think about today is peppermint ice cream. So creamy, so yummy, I love the little chunks of peppermint......mmmmmm. I'll have to head to the store later and get some Edys.

The holidays

Here is a picture of Ryan's immediate family with spouses and children. We are missing Jason. He didn't get there until much later and by then Lindsay had already left.

We had a nice Thanksgiving until the way home when I got really sick really quickly. It hit me so hard. I am still fighting it off but I finally went to the doctor when the cough got so bad. It made our weekend a little blah but it was good that Ryan was home to take care of the kids. I hate it when I am so sick and I still have to take care of kids. It is so hard and I feel like such a bad mom because they just watch tv all day long. But I guess thats just the way it has to be some days.

Life here is back to semi normal state. Things are busy as usual. It seems like we never lack for a million things to get done around the house and out of the house. We may not be fully unpacked but we are still working on Christmas decorations. We got a nice tree this week and are slowly decorating it. We also put up the village and the Santas. I plan on doing a ton of cleaning this week to get it all done and looking nice by next weekend. Then it will be time to plan for our trip to Kansas.

We will be driving to Kansas this year. Are we crazy? Maybe. We are really looking forward to it. Our friends Ali and Matt just moved back and are letting us stay at their place so it won't be so crazy at my mom's house. We just figured if we flew we would have to rent a car anyway and then to get all the gifts back and forth would be tough too. This will be fun!

Anyway, gotta run to try and do some dishes and some laundry.

I'm not fat for my height. I'm short for my weight.
