Evan's Birthday

Ok, so his birthday was ten days ago and this post is long overdue but you know how it is.

Evan turned 4 this year and I can hardly believe that my little baby is growing up so fast. He is such a wonderful boy to have around for so many reasons. He impresses me with his love of learning and desire to do what is right. He is always talking about making the right choice. What a little smarty pants he is too! He recently taught himself to read and that has made me so proud. He constantly wants to read stories or spell words. He loves to write letters so don't be surprised if you find one in your mailbox.

Evan is very artistic and every day asks to paint, play with play dough, color or draw. He has very intellectual pursuits which is not the average for a boy of 4 and we love it. He starts soccer this year which should be interesting considering his lack of desire to play sports. I think he would rather read a book. He does sound very excited though. Swimming is by far his favorite physical activity and we'll be signing him up for more classes at the Y soon.

Evan is very social and not at all shy. He always wants to make a new friend when we go to the park or a play place. He tells everyone all about his day and what we are doing. I have to be careful what I say to this kid because he will tell everyone. Such as, "My mommy has a baby in her tummy!"

Evan is also very caring. He loves Griffin so much, in fact sometimes a little too much. Every morning when I would get sick from pregnancy he would say, "My poor mommy." and would go get me a glass of water. What a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle. Every time I look in on him in primary he is sitting on a different leader's lap. He loves them all and I like to think they love him too.

Here are pictures from our fun day at Chocolate World. We celebrated along with cousin Samantha who turned 4 three days before Evan.

Tell him Happy Birthday. Maybe I'll send a card. Would it be wierd if it came late or would he still like it? Plus, I'd love a letter from him.

How could you not love Evan? He is such a great kid and great friend to William. He is so smart too!

I'm not fat for my height. I'm short for my weight.
