Digital Camera

Ok, so our digital camera died earlier this week and it is not something I am willing to do without at this time. I need to get a new one but don't want to break the bank (heck I don't have much to deal with at this point) and want one that is very user friendly for someone who really doesn't know much about photography.

Any ideas? Cameras you love, cameras you hate?

Let me know.

I'm going to be trying my hand at this deliciousness today and wanted to share the recipe. I personally believe that chocolate and peanut butter are a divine combination. At least it is a combo that I cannot resist. Go Here to find this recipe on my friend Gwyn's blog.

Sometimes things happen in your life that really make you examine who you are as a person, a parent, a wife, a daughter, or whatever it may be. It has recently felt to me that I have had many of these moments this past year. I felt a bit picked on. Although I'm not ready to fully discuss I wanted to post this little bit of wisdom just for me so I can come back to it when I need to.

There are days when we feel that the rain has taken over the sunshine and it is difficult, if not impossible to see when we will be able to find it once again. I realized yesterday that it is all a matter of perspective. Perhaps if we look at what seems like a problem from a differing viewpoint it may actually be that sunlight we were searching for. Perhaps if we look at the blessings that may come from that, we may just be pleasantly surprised.

It seems like we live in a very negative world. Everyone is constantly complaining about the problems in their lives. If we instead chose to talk about the joys and the blessings, we would be so much happier. I'm not saying we don't have bad things happen or that we should ignore them when they do. I'm simply saying we should try and keep our focus on what good we have in our lives rather than focusing on the bad.

Ok, so this isn't rocket science here. It isn't new or exciting. Are there days though, that you just need someone to remind you of the basics?

I recently gave a talk on gratitude in church and I used a quote that was found in a talk by President Thomas Monson

"Both abundance and lack (of abundance) exist simultaneously in our lives, as parellel realities. It is always our conscious choice of which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present-- love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us (happisness) -- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

I need to try and remember this one.
