My heart goes out to you as you face these challenges.

As the primary president for my ward, we have similar challenges with some children, and it didn't even occur to me to realize that maybe they have a physical reason that causes them to 'act out.' We try to stay patient, but for some reason, recognizing that a physical limitation may exist makes it so much easier to stay calm and try to help rather than getting frustrated. Does that make sense?

As a side note -- we have learned that our primary children often do better in those situations if they have something in their hand like the 'I Spy' bags. Then they are looking in their lap instead of up at the crowd. It really helps them to stay calm!

Hang in there!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06062330171346995260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31891986.post-17173519195842107382010-10-26T08:32:58.778-04:002010-10-26T08:32:58.778-04:00what a great mom you are to have faith in him desp...what a great mom you are to have faith in him despite his challenges, ruth. he sounds like such an amazing boy. our stake primary has set up a group (yahoo group and quarterly get-together) for parents and leaders to discuss ways we can help kids with different challenges be successful in primary. it's been wonderful already, many eyes are being opened and ideas are flowing. i can give you the yahoo address if you'd like to listen in.Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09802289049336649797noreply@blogger.com
